I loved this place all around! Service was pleasant and prompt from the moment we walked in. Ambiance was upbeat with unique mine decor throughout (even the outside of the building is cute)! The food was delectable with some of the best sweet potato fries I have had and the prices were very reasonable. I can't wait to come back and try more in this adorable dining venue :)

Seated pretty quick looked really busy inside Service was really good for as busy as they was . Food was really good a must try if you are in this area !!! No regrets and definitely get the ITALIAN FRIES!!!!
A really good restaurant in Wausau! It was pretty busy on a Saturday night. The food was pretty good, the cheese curds, burgers, and chips were our favorites. The fish and "italian fries" are something we would skip. The italian fries are just breadsticks- slightly disappointed since it's something they're supposed to be known for. The inside of the restaurant is one of the best parts, very interesting interior design. Really does feel like a mine! Do reccomend and would definitely go back.
I was on the hunt for a really good burger in the Wausau area and I definitely found it here! The burgers are half pound and they have a decent variety of burger options. I opted for the Virgil burger, Canadian, bacon, sautéed mushrooms and onions, and. Swiss cheese. The burger was juicy and had lots of flavor. There were plenty of mushrooms and onions as toppings, and the cheese was actually melting. I chose to forgo the chips and upgrade to french fries, I do not regret it at all. The fries were crinkle cut, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. As far as the atmosphere is concerned, it definitely lives up to its name! The outside looks like an old rambling mine shack and inside you feel like you are in a mine shaft. There is a raw wood to feel like supports, holding up the walls of the mine. There's even a canary in a cage! I can't wait to return so I can bring my grandsons. They would love the atmosphere, and goodness knows, I would love the food!

Had a typo in my other review, so clarifying here: My suggestion to the excellent servers is to slow down a few notches. Careful not to toss the plates on the table. Set them down carefully and make a nice comment before dashing off. I know you're busy, but a plate slammed on the table feels rude. Appreciate how hard your job is, so thank you for considering this suggestion. Love the food!! Good job!
Get the pizza fries...they are the best you'll find anywhere! The sauce is what makes them even better. The cave atmosphere is cool as well.
